I take the time to break down complex financial concepts so you
understand not just what we're doing, but why it really matters. And I'm
always happy to bring your lawyer, accountant or lending advisor into the
conversation.
Fifteen minutes to understand your situation and see whether there's a reason to keep talking.
The corporation, the equipment, the existing coverage, the household. Then goals, and the options that fit them, before anything is recommended.
I present the strategy and walk you through the reasoning behind every piece of it, in plain language rather than jargon.
Putting the plan in place alongside your accountant and lawyer, not around them. Then reviewing it as the business changes.

Nothing is sold and nothing is signed. You don't need to bring documents, just your questions.
I'll ask what you do, how you're paid, who else is already advising
you, and what keeps coming back to you at two in the morning. I'll tell you what I'm seeing, including the parts that are already working.
By the end you'll know whether there's a gap worth closing, roughly
what closing it involves, and whether you want a second conversation. That's the whole agenda.
Most of what goes wrong in a financial plan doesn't go wrong at the start. It goes wrong quietly, three years in, when the business changed and the paperwork didn't.
A full look at the structure once a year: what changed in the business, in the household, and in the tax rules, and what the plan should do about it.
A new hire, a property purchase, a partner buy-in, a diagnosis, a new child. Call me before it's finalised, not after.
I'll join a call with your accountant or lawyer whenever it saves you from relaying something you shouldn't have to relay.
There's no fee for the first conversation, and no fee to have your situation reviewed. Where I'm compensated by a carrier or product provider, I'll tell you how before you decide anything. You should never have to guess how your advisor is paid.
No. Plenty of my clients keep an existing investment advisor, and my role is coordinating the structure around what they already have rather than replacing it. If something in your current setup is working against you, I'll tell you, and then it's your call what to do about it.
Insurance is one of the tools, and for business owners whose income depends on their ability to work, it's usually an important one. But it's a tool, not the plan. If the answer to your situation is a corporate restructure and a conversation with your accountant, that's what I'll say.
No minimum. I started my career watching how retirement actually plays out for ordinary people, and that shaped who I work with. If you're building something, there's a conversation worth having.
Yes, and I'd rather you keep them. Most of what I do only works when the corporate structure, the tax filing and the legal documents agree with each other, which means talking to the people already handling those. If you don't have an accountant or lawyer yet, that's worth a conversation on its own.
It's the most common place we start. A corporation that was set up for one reason years ago often isn't doing anything useful for the business you have now. Reviewing it costs you a conversation.
I'm licensed in Nova Scotia to offer life insurance, living benefits, and life-insurer investment products including annuities and segregated funds. If you're outside the province, ask on the first call and I'll confirm whether I can act for you where you live.
Fifteen minutes to see whether there's a reason to keep talking. That's
the entire commitment.
